Generate profile summaries

Request a category review, understand weekly updates and personal AI credit use, and recover failed generation.

Generate now queues a review of one category using the profile owner's personal AI credits. It requires Profile AI write access and an active account linked to the Person.

Request a review

  1. Open the person's profile and select Summary.
  2. Find the category and select Generate now.
  3. Wait for the queued confirmation and follow its status.
  4. Review the resulting state and sources, or open View history for the outcome and covered dates.

Generation is asynchronous. Queued, Generating, and Retrying do not mean the new summary is ready. Wait before submitting another request: separate requests can create additional paid work. A successful review can find no relevant change or insufficient evidence instead of producing a new summary.

Scheduled weekly reviews

When weekly generation is enabled, CareMap discovers eligible activity after Sunday 00:00 UTC for the preceding week. Completion can occur later; Sunday is not a delivery deadline.

Qualifying activity includes changes to saved profile facts and care contacts, current Profile Documents and their processing, Reports about the person, and qualifying Notes described in Profile AI. Some access and account-link changes also prompt review. Merely changing category settings or adding an unrelated Library file does not qualify.

A person without qualifying activity receives no scheduled generation for that week. Categories complete independently. An inactive gap does not erase the last state or earlier history. Saving a profile detail does not immediately start paid generation.

Who pays and how much is needed

The profile owner's personal balance pays, even when an organization Staff member or Guardian requests the review. Selecting an organization workspace does not move this charge to the organization.

Before each category, available credits must exceed a cushion: the larger of 1,000 credits or 125% of the most recent completed weekly run's settled cost, rounded up. Without previous weekly cost, the cushion is 1,000. The balance must also cover the generation estimate; the cushion is not a price quote.

Low credits stop that person's remaining work for the run. After restoring credits, use Generate now for a skipped category. Check personal usage in Settings > Account > Usage.

No-change, insufficient-evidence, and rejected-output outcomes can still cost credits if AI work occurred. No retrievable evidence can end a review before paid generation. A failed attempt alone does not prove that no credits were used.

Recover an unsuccessful review

  • Waiting for search service retries automatically as the service recovers.
  • New summary could not be verified means the new result was not published; earlier history remains.
  • For a search-configuration message, ask an administrator to resolve it before trying Generate now again.
  • For other persistent failures, share the displayed attempt reference and error with your administrator. If the profile is not ready, have its account link and access checked.
