Profile AI
Review weekly, cited CareMap summaries built independently for each profile category.
Profile AI organizes a person's current situation into short, cited category reports on their profile. CareMap's default categories cover the person's story and preferences, people and daily life, health and wellbeing, safety, and plans and support. An organization can add categories for people assigned to it, and someone with Profile AI write access can add personal categories.
Each category is researched and generated independently. Its card shows a brief summary, while View report opens the detailed Markdown report, covered dates, history, and citations.
Understand the weekly update
CareMap checks for a weekly update after Sunday begins at 00:00 UTC. A person is queued only when the previous week included qualifying activity:
- a current Profile Document was added, replaced, or deleted;
- a Report explicitly about the person changed; or
- one of the person's own Notes, or a Note explicitly marked about the person, changed.
Library files by themselves do not activate Profile AI and are not Profile AI evidence. Category settings also do not count as person activity. When a person has no qualifying activity, CareMap does not spend credits or create a blank weekly result.
After an inactive gap, the next active week can include that gap in the new report. Up to four weeks of earlier Profile AI history help the Agent preserve continuity. A category that finds no relevant new information records that outcome and keeps the last successful summary current.
Categories enter a shared queue, so they can finish at different times. A card can show Queued, Generating, Retrying, Generation failed, or a low-credit message while other categories continue independently.
Read reports and sources
Select View report on a category card. The history lists every evaluated period, including successful updates and weeks that produced no new summary. Choose an entry to read its detailed report and cited sources.
A citation is checked against your current source permission each time you open the history. You can be allowed to read the generated report without being allowed to open every Note, Report, or Profile Document it cites. In that case, or when the source has been deleted, CareMap shows Source unavailable or access restricted and keeps the generated report readable. The original sources remain authoritative.
Add or change a personal category
If the profile grants you Profile AI write access:
- Open the profile and find Profile AI.
- Select Manage categories.
- Add a category name and research prompt, or edit an existing personal category.
- Select Save to use it for future eligible runs, or Save and generate to queue it now.
Global CareMap categories and organization categories are linked to the profile; editing them does not create a private copy. Identical category names can coexist because each category keeps its own identity and history.
Access, credits, and deletion
The profile owner, an authorized Guardian, an assigned care-team member, or assigned organization staff can use Profile AI under their current access rules. A profile owner can also grant a contact No access, View, or Write. Write access includes generating, managing personal categories, and permanently deleting generated summaries.
The person's owning account pays the AI credits, even when another authorized person requests generation. Before each category contacts the AI provider, CareMap checks the owner's current credit cushion. Low credits stop the remaining categories for that person without blocking other profiles.
Deleting a generated summary permanently removes its citations and retained provider result. If an older successful summary exists, it becomes the visible current report and CareMap labels that fallback. Deleting an account or its personal workspace removes its Profile AI categories, queue work, reports, citations, provider artifacts, and activity state under CareMap's privacy process.
If a category does not update as expected, check its card status, the covered dates in history, whether qualifying activity happened during the last closed week, and whether the profile owner has enough AI credits.
