Care teams
Create care teams, assign clients, maintain members, and recover from concurrent membership changes.
A care team connects supporting accounts with one or more assigned clients. An active team, active membership, and active client assignment provide an access path to those clients. CareMap administrators manage teams in the app.
Create or select a team
- Open People > Clients and choose the client.
- On Profile, select Manage care team in Relationships or the profile actions.
- Under New care team, enter a name and optional detail, then select Create. Or choose a team under Existing care team.
- Check Client assignment. Select Assign client if needed.
- Review Assigned clients before adding members.
Creating a team attempts to assign the current client afterward. If assignment fails, the new team can still exist: select it and retry Assign client instead of creating another team.
A team can support several clients, and a client can belong to several teams. To attach another client, open that client's profile and choose the existing team. The assignment buttons act on the client whose profile you opened.
Add or update a member
- Under Members, choose an existing Account by name and email.
- Enter its Role.
- Select Add member, or Update member for an active member.
- Confirm the member appears with the intended role.
Direct addition activates membership immediately. To let a recipient decide, use a care-team invitation.
Roles describe responsibilities. The roles admin, manager, and owner
also authorize management of Person-level delegated access; they do not grant
global CareMap administrator status or unlock the administrator's team dialog.
Ordinary active team membership can grant profile-detail and Profile Document
access as well as client, Schedule, and Report visibility. Library folders and
other protected surfaces have separate rules.
If a membership changes in another session, your role draft is preserved and saving stops. Select Reload members, review the current membership, then choose whether to update it or add the account again. Reloading alone does not restore a removed member. If reload fails, retry it before saving.
Changing teams clears the selected account; choose it again for the new team.
Remove access or deactivate
- Remove client ends the current client's assignment to the selected team.
- The member's trash control removes that account's membership.
- Deactivate opens a confirmation for the whole team.
Client and member removals apply without a second confirmation. They do not delete accounts or client records. Independent permissions and separately granted Person Guardian relationships remain.
Inactive teams remain selectable. Their team access stops, and the dialog disables new assignments, members, and invitations. To resume, set State to Active and select Save team. Retained active memberships and assignments can grant access again, so review them first.
Use Save team for name, detail, or state edits. If the directory cannot load, select Try again. If access is missing after acceptance, check the team, membership, and client assignment, then the relevant feature's permissions.
