Invite someone to a care team
Send, resend, accept, decline, or cancel a care-team invitation and resolve expired or unavailable requests.
A care-team invitation lets someone accept membership before it becomes active. It is separate from a contact or organization invitation.
Send an invitation
An administrator uses the team's management dialog:
- Open the client's Profile > Manage care team and choose the team.
- Confirm the team is active and review Assigned clients.
- Under Invitations, enter the recipient's Email and intended Role.
- Select Invite.
- Review the pending request, expiry, and delivery status.
The normal invitation lasts seven days. Only one pending invitation for that team and email is allowed. Review the existing request instead of sending a duplicate. The recipient can create a CareMap account with the invited email if needed; sending the invitation does not create one.
An invitation sent from a client's profile names that client as context, but acceptance joins the team. It can grant access to the team's other assigned clients too. It does not assign a missing client to the team.
Accept or decline
- Sign in to the invited account or with the invited email.
- Open People > Invitations, or open the invitation from the Home inbox or its email link.
- Review the team, role, inviter, client context, and expiry.
- Select Accept or Decline.
These decisions apply without a second confirmation. Acceptance activates the membership using the invited role, including updating an existing membership. A pending request alone grants no access. Accept all in the People view applies to contact invitations; act on care-team requests individually there.
Resend, retry, or cancel
In the management dialog, use Resend for a pending invitation or Retry when delivery failed. A resend renews the expiry and replaces the previous invitation link. Use the latest email link, or open the current request in People > Invitations.
Delivery marked sent is not proof the recipient has read or accepted the request. If delivery is failed or disabled, review the message and contact an administrator if retry does not help. A saved pending request may still be available in the recipient's invitation inbox.
Cancel ends a pending request immediately. Accepted membership must instead be removed under Members. Declined, canceled, expired, or unavailable requests need a fresh invitation when access should be offered again.
Recover an unavailable request
Check the signed-in account and invited email first. Email matching ignores capitalization and surrounding spaces. Then check expiry and whether someone already accepted, declined, canceled, or resent the request.
An inactive team or a missing/archived client named in the invitation can make it unavailable. Ask an administrator to correct the team or client state and send a new invitation. After acceptance, missing client access can also mean the client is no longer assigned to the team.
