Shared devices

Shared-device registration enables organization-issued Magic keys on that browser or app installation. The registration and key must belong to the same organization. Registration alone does not sign anyone in.

Owners, Manager Staff, and CareMap administrators can create and revoke registrations. Regular Staff and Clients do not receive these management controls merely from their roles.

Register a device

1. In the organization workspace, open Organization > Devices. An administrator can instead open the organization record in Admin > Access > Organizations, then Access > Devices.
2. Select Register This Device to create a pending registration and open Register shared device.
3. To register the browser or app you are using, select Register This Device in that dialog. To register another device, keep the dialog open and use the steps below on the intended device.
4. Confirm the device becomes active in the organization's list. Use Refresh page after registration elsewhere.

On another device's sign-in screen, select Open device settings. Paste the code or registration URL into Registration code or URL, or select Scan QR to fill the field from the displayed registration QR code. Then select Register device. Confirm the expected organization and Registered state, then select Sign in to return.

The manager's dialog also offers Copy code and Download QR. Keep the code private: it expires after 24 hours and can register only one installation. The active registration remains usable after that code is consumed; it does not expire after 24 hours.

Review registrations

Use Search devices, sortable column headings, Next page, Previous page, and Refresh page. Failed loads offer Retry. Entries show label, status, creation/registration times, and Last seen.

• pending: the one-time code has not been exchanged.
• active: registration completed.
• expired: the unused registration code timed out.
• revoked: the registration no longer supports new Magic key sign-ins.

Revoke or unregister

Select Revoke beside an organization device to disable its registration. On the device's sign-in screen, Open device settings > Unregister this device clears the saved registration and attempts to revoke it on the server. If the device was offline, have a manager revoke the entry in Devices too.

These actions prevent future Magic key sign-ins; they do not end account sessions already created. Sign out the current account or use its Account sessions controls to end existing access. Normal account sign-out keeps the device registration for the next user.

If registration is missing or fails

Registration is saved separately in each browser profile or app installation. Clearing its site/app data can remove it. A different browser is not registered automatically.

For Not registered, a blocked save, or an invalid/expired/used code, allow CareMap to retain local data, revoke any abandoned entry, and create a fresh registration. Recheck Device Settings after registering. If the camera cannot scan, paste the registration code instead.
