Skip and restore recurring occurrences
Use Skipped occurrences to restore dates and understand the bounded history list.
Skipping removes one recurring occurrence from ordinary Schedule results without deleting its series.
Skip one date
- Find the occurrence in Schedule and open its actions.
- Choose Skip occurrence or Skip.
- Optionally enter a Reason.
- Select Skip, then confirm the occurrence disappears from the active range.
You need edit access to the source Guide or Form. One-time schedules and assignment due rows do not have these controls.
Skipping replaces the occurrence's current exception. If it was rescheduled, restoring the skip later returns it to the original series time, not that previous replacement time.
Review and restore skipped work
- Open another visible occurrence of the same series.
- Choose Skipped occurrences, or Skipped in the compact action row.
- Find the original date and read its reason.
- Select Restore.
- Read the confirmation and move to the original date if it is outside your current range.
Restore removes the saved exception. The occurrence uses its original series time and current series defaults again. It can reappear as unfinished work.
The confirmation can state that the restored date is outside the range on screen. That is a successful restore, not a reason to repeat it.
Understand the history limits
This list contains currently skipped occurrences, not a timeline of every previous skip, move, or restore.
The dialog loads up to 50 entries, ordered by original occurrence date with the latest dates first. “Most recent” refers to those dates, not when someone pressed Skip.
When more exist, the dialog shows a bounded-list notice. There is no Load more or history search control. Restoring a row removes it from this displayed list; the dialog does not automatically fill that space with another older row. Closing and reopening loads the current bounded list again.
Dates in the history use your device's timezone, which can differ from the series timezone.
The history is opened through a visible occurrence. If every date of a finite series is skipped and no occurrence remains visible, the current interface has no independent entry for opening that series' history.
If restore fails
Close and reopen the history after a load or access error. If another editor changed the series, refresh Schedule and open a current occurrence before trying again.
A series edit can remove skips that no longer match its pattern. Deleting the series also removes its skipped history. See series changes and exception behavior.
Restore does not run an overlap warning; check the restored time against other planned work. It does not promise a new notification for a past date; review reminder state separately.
