Offline details and package warnings

Find which downloaded Guide resources are unavailable or limited and what to refresh.

Use Offline details to understand a Guide’s offline limitations before relying on its download. You can inspect a Guide you are allowed to view; editing its content still requires editing access.

Inspect the saved package

  1. Open the Guide’s overview in Library.
  2. Find Offline and select Offline details when available.
  3. Read the package status and cached/attempted/failed resource counts.
  4. Review Offline warnings, including any named sequence, page, or block.
  5. Connect to the network and choose Prepare offline or Refresh offline after resolving the cause.

Warnings for a downloaded package refer to its saved content, which can differ from a newer live Guide. Guide-wide or content location not available means the warning has no displayable location. No specific warnings were recorded does not establish readiness; check the package status. Older packages can report additional warnings without details—refresh to obtain the current list.

Unavailable offline affects the listed content, not necessarily the whole Guide. Limited offline means the feature may need network or device support. Information does not prevent playback. Successfully cached resources can remain usable when other resources fail.

Act on common warnings

WarningNext step
Missing mediaAsk an editor to replace the missing reference, then refresh.
Media processing failedAn editor can retry or replace the media; refresh after it is ready.
Media or a processed version is not readyWait for processing while connected, then refresh.
Prepared speech is unavailableDevice speech may work where supported. Refresh after speech preparation finishes.
Communication adaptation is incompleteBase Guide content remains available, but adapted text or speech can be missing. Refresh while connected.
A resource download failedReconnect and refresh to retry that download on this device.
Unknown limitationReview the affected content and refresh; do not assume it is available offline.

Resource counts describe stored files, not every offline feature. Dynamic speech, uncached media, or a device without the needed capability can behave differently from online playback.

If The latest refresh failed appears, the previous package was kept. Retry while connected and check the resulting status. Do not infer that the newest Guide revision was downloaded from the Downloaded badge alone.

The dialog offers Open Guide editor when you can edit and Play when you can play. If only an editor can repair a resource, send them the Guide name and affected location. Download troubleshooting is separate from saved-session recovery.
