Legacy Scale answers

Scale is a retired standalone answer method. For a new rating, authors with Guide edit access should add Number and choose Input style → Slider. See Number Slider answers for current range, increment, and default controls.

Existing Scale methods are hidden from builder editing. Their stored configuration, playback, imports, and numeric Report answers remain supported. Saving an unrelated block edit does not delete or convert them. Adding a Number method does not migrate a Scale method or its historical answers.

Complete an existing Scale answer

1. Choose the Scale method if the Field offers a chooser.
2. Check the displayed bounds and selected value.
3. Drag or tap the slider, or focus it and use the keyboard arrow keys.
4. Allow the answer to save after interaction. If Done with response appears, select it to finish and return to the chooser.

The Simplified player also offers large minus and plus controls. Scale uses its retained range, Step, and default configuration. The starting display alone does not record an answer. A changed value saves after about one second without another edit, on pointer or key release, or on leaving the control.

An accepted save can run the method's retained after-submit action. Replacing the value updates this method's answer; selecting another method keeps it. See Field responses and page resets.

Fix common problems

If saving fails, check the connection and choose Retry save. An invalid value is not an accepted answer. For a required Field, resolve the save error before continuing.

If a Report lacks the answer, confirm the value was accepted and the retained method settings include it in Reports. Preview practice answers stay out of the Reports inbox. The absence of Scale from the builder is expected; use Number with Slider for new authoring.
