Complete a task with notes and photos

A Completion response confirms that you performed the activity described in a Guide Field. The author decides whether supporting notes and photos are available or required.

Confirm the activity

1. Choose Completion if the Field offers several methods.
2. Read or listen to the prompt and perform the activity.
3. If a photo is required, select Add a photo, choose an image, and wait for its upload and processing to finish.
4. Optionally select Add a note and enter details.
5. Select Complete, or the author's custom wording.
6. Check that the button changes to Completed.
7. If Continue appears, finish your supporting details and select it.

Adding a photo or typing a note does not confirm the task. Complete records the confirmation, the current trimmed note, and any existing photo evidence.

A required photo that is missing, uploading, processing, or failed prevents confirmation. Optional notes and photos are not marked as missing.

Save or replace supporting details

After completion, edit the note and select Save note. Waiting or leaving the text box is not a note-save command. Continue also saves the current note before proceeding.

Photo selection starts an upload immediately. In the mobile app, Take photo or Choose from library selects the source; other platforms use the system image picker. A new selection replaces the photo for this response while preserving whether the task is completed.

Use Choose photo to replace existing evidence. Cancelling the picker keeps the current selection. A preview alone does not establish that upload and processing succeeded.

Unlike the separate Photo answer method, supporting photos do not have a Submit photo review step.

Understand Continue and Undo completion

When supporting details are enabled, Continue appears if the method has a follow-up action or returns to the response chooser. Complete saves first, leaving time for those details. Continue accepts the current completion for that next step. It is disabled after a successful Continue while this input remains open.

Without supporting details, an authored action can run immediately after completion is accepted. Saving later notes or replacing a supporting photo does not itself repeat that action.

Undo completion clears this method's saved response, including its saved note and photo association. It does not merely change the checkmark. Other methods' answers remain. Confirm again when appropriate; a required Field may be unanswered after undoing.

Recover and check Reports

For a failed upload with a retained photo, select Retry photo upload. For failed processing, choose another photo. Restore connectivity and wait for required evidence before trying Complete or Continue again.

If confirmation or Save note fails, keep the details open and retry the same control. Check session synchronization for answers accepted on this device but not yet synchronized.

Included Reports show saved details, not unsaved note edits. Required pending or failed evidence must be resolved before completion/report submission. Preview practice answers stay out of the Reports inbox. A Complete label alone does not finish the whole Guide.
