Courses and Learn
Images inside Course and Reference text
Insert, paste, describe, and resize inline images, and resolve unfinished image operations before saving.
A Text item can contain images among its paragraphs. These are separate from an Image lesson item or the project's cover.
You need editing access to the Course or Reference, an available source image, an online connection, and sufficient workspace storage.
Insert an image
- Open a lesson or chapter's Text item and place the cursor where the image should appear.
- Select Insert image and choose an available source. You can also paste an image file or drop image files into the rich-text area.
- Finish the picker and wait for the image operation to complete.
- Select the inserted image to open Edit image.
- Set Alternative text, Caption, and Width as needed, then Save.
- Wait for the Course builder to show Saved, then check Preview.
For uploaded pictures, use PNG, JPEG, GIF, or WebP, up to 50 MB per file. Image processing can continue after the transfer finishes. Inline insertion waits for the image to become ready before completing.
When selecting or pasting an existing CareMap image, CareMap checks source access and prepares it for the destination Course. A clipboard reference does not grant access to otherwise unavailable content.
Describe and size the image
Alternative text describes meaningful visual information for assistive technology. Replace a filename-based default with a useful description. Caption adds visible text beneath the image.
Width accepts a positive value up to 10,000. Clear it to remove the explicit width. The displayed image still fits the available area and keeps its proportions.
The image dialog's Save updates the Text item; the builder then autosaves the project. Remove removes the image from that text. Check the saved result before leaving.
Paste content containing images
Copying rich text within CareMap can include managed images. Keep the destination editor open while Adding image resources appears.
Resource preparation can fail if source access changed, storage is unavailable, or the connection drops. Resolve the cause and select Retry, or choose Cancel and insert an available source again. Pasting images is separate from typing ordinary text.
Recover an unfinished insertion
Pending or failed image operations keep Course saving, Preview, and some navigation or reordering controls unavailable.
- Finish or cancel an open image picker.
- For Image upload failed, restore the connection or choose another image. Use the operation's Retry or Cancel control.
- Wait for processing to finish; a temporary preview alone does not prove the image is ready.
- If a saved image is unavailable, use its Retry control when offered, check access, or replace it.
Avoid reloading solely to clear an unfinished operation: its local file can be lost. A recovery draft preserves authored content but does not guarantee that an unfinished upload can resume.
Finally, inspect the saved text on a narrow screen. Check image size, captions, and surrounding instructions before publishing.
