Add, open, and download Note attachments

Attach files, open or download originals, and understand inline images, processing, and historical access.

Note attachments belong to the Note and are retained with the revisions that reference them. They are not ordinary visible Library files.

Add or remove files

  1. Create or edit a Note.
  2. Open Attachments.
  3. Select the empty attachment area or Add Note attachments.
  4. Choose one or more files from your device. Images, audio, video, documents, and other file types can be attached.
  5. Use the remove button beside an unwanted file before saving.
  6. Select Create Note or Save new revision and wait for completion.
  7. Reopen the saved Note to check its attachments.

Selected attachment files upload during saving. An upload failure does not mean the remaining files or Note saved successfully; keep the editor open, read the error, and retry when appropriate.

Each uploaded file is limited to 50,000,000 bytes, and workspace storage allowances also apply. Attaching a file does not guarantee that its format can be parsed for Agent search or previewed by the browser.

Open or download a saved file

In the Note's attachment card, select Open to open the original in a separate browser view, or Download to save a copy on your device. The card shows file size and, when relevant, processing state or failure information.

Opening and downloading require current access to the Note. Readers can also open attachments from earlier revisions. A file removed from the current revision can therefore remain accessible through History.

The open/download buttons remain available during processing. Their success depends on the original file being available; a processing status alone does not prove the original is missing. If an action fails, try it again after checking your connection and access. Check browser pop-up handling if Open does not display a new view.

Inline images and historical files

Images inserted into the body use the rich-text image controls. They belong to the revision too, but appear in the body rather than being duplicated in the separate attachment cards.

Removing an inline image from the body and saving omits it from that new revision. It does not erase earlier revisions. Review history before sharing the Note with someone new.

Attachment processing and the Note's own Agent search status are separate. Current attachments can be prepared for search; old-revision attachments remain readable in History without being current search evidence.
