Recover an Agent attachment

Resolve attachment size, processing, reading, and Save to Library problems.

An uploaded attachment, readable content, and a saved Library copy are separate results. Use the visible error to choose the next step.

Check the attachment

  1. Keep the current conversation open and read the message.
  2. Check that there are at most 10 selected files and that each is nonempty and no larger than 50,000,000 bytes.
  3. Confirm the file opens on your device and uses a supported format.
  4. If processing is still running, wait before retrying.
  5. If CareMap asks you to select the file again to check progress, select the same unchanged file in the same chat.
  6. If sending was unconfirmed, use Check response status before repeating the message.

Uploading or processing takes too long

CareMap waits for document preparation for up to about five minutes. A message that the document is still processing does not mean the upload was lost.

Reselecting the same unchanged file with the same name and type in the same conversation reuses its upload when possible. Renaming it, changing it, or starting another conversation creates a different request.

For a processing failure or unavailable document processing, read the error and contact an administrator if it persists. Repeatedly starting new chats does not repair document processing. Plain text can be readable without completed search preparation.

The upload succeeds but the answer lacks content

File selection accepts formats beyond those the Agent can read. An unsupported file can finish uploading without useful text or an image for the answer. Export a supported document or image from the original application, then attach that copy.

Ask the Agent to read the named file and relevant section. Long documents are read in parts; request continuation rather than assuming the first answer covers everything. Check image details against the original.

Save to Library fails

The copy is saved at the conversation workspace's top-level Library, even if your next question is limited to a subfolder. Check your upload permission and available storage there. Access to a chat attachment alone does not give you permission to create that Library copy.

After an uncertain save, inspect Library before trying again. Saving again can create another copy, and the Saved to Library display is not a permanent duplicate-prevention control.

An older attachment is unavailable

Confirm the signed-in account and conversation. Workspace access changes or chat deletion can make its attachments unavailable. There is no chat restore control. Look for a separately saved Library copy or attach the original in a new accessible chat.

For connection problems and interrupted responses, follow response recovery.
