Search and save audit filters
Use Common scopes, save personal audit searches, and update or remove saved filters.
Global administrators can save their own search and sort settings in Admin → Audit. Saved filters belong to your account; another administrator does not receive them automatically.
Narrow the history
Enter a term in CareMap's search field. Search is case-insensitive and looks for the entered text in recorded event details, including actor name/email, action, summary, target, and identifiers. It is a literal text search, not a date-range or advanced-query builder.
Common scopes provides Reports, Folders, Admin, Reminders, and Guides shortcuts. A shortcut replaces the effective search with a preset phrase and fills in a suggested filter name. It keeps your sort order and does not save a filter until you select Save.
These shortcuts match text; they are not exhaustive categories of every event related to that feature. Check the search shown beneath the Audit heading. Editing CareMap's search field replaces the preset or saved search while keeping the current sort.
Clear removes the selected scope/filter and returns to the text still in CareMap's search field. Also empty that field to show all events. Clear does not delete a saved filter or reset sorting.
Save and reuse a filter
- Set the search and column sort you want to reuse.
- Enter a Saved filter name.
- Select Save and wait for the saved row to appear.
- Later, select Apply beside that row.
- Check the restored search and sort in Audit.
Use a name of up to 80 characters and saved search text of up to 200 characters. Longer values are shortened when saved. Names must be unique among your own filters, ignoring letter case.
A saved filter stores settings, not a frozen copy of the results. Applying it can show newer matching events. It does not preserve how many batches you previously loaded.
Change or delete a filter
- Select Apply beside the filter to edit.
- Change its name, search, or column sort.
- Select Update to replace its saved settings.
- Apply it again when you need to restore those settings.
Editing search does not automatically update the saved filter. Its name may remain selected while the current query differs. Save creates a separate filter; using an existing name produces an error rather than replacing it.
Delete beside a saved filter removes it immediately, without a confirmation dialog. It does not delete audit events. Deleting the active filter returns to CareMap's search text and keeps the current sort. You can save the settings again if needed.
Creating, updating, and deleting filters also produce audit events. If saving succeeds but the following event refresh fails, inspect the saved-filter row and select Refresh before repeating Save.
