Real-world completion answers

Use an IRL completion answer when someone performs a task away from the screen and then confirms it in a Guide. The answer can include a note or photo.

You need edit access to configure this method. When included in reports, its saved confirmation, note, and photo can appear in the Guide Report.

Add and configure an IRL completion answer

1. Open the Guide in the editor and select the Field block that should confirm the task.
2. Open Answer methods, select Add method, and choose IRL completion.
3. Enter Instructions that clearly describe the real-world task and when it is complete.
4. Set the Confirmation label. It becomes the player's button and saved answer summary. Use a clear action such as Completed.
5. Optionally customize the Note placeholder.
6. Set photo evidence to Not required, Optional, or Required.
7. Review the Field block's required setting and the method's report settings, save the block, and run Preview before sharing the Guide.

CareMap flags the method as unusable when Instructions or Confirmation label is empty. The Field block's required setting is separate: a required Field needs a saved completion, while required photo evidence also needs a usable photo.

Complete the real-world task

1. Follow the displayed Instructions and finish the task outside CareMap.
2. If photo evidence is available, select Choose photo and capture or choose an image.
3. Add a note when useful.
4. Select the authored confirmation button. If a photo was selected, wait for Uploading evidence to finish.
5. Look for the saved completion summary before leaving the Guide.

Selecting a photo or typing a note does not save the answer by itself. The confirmation button saves the completion, note, and selected evidence together.

Photo evidence and Reports

Optional photo evidence may be omitted. Required photo evidence blocks the confirmation until an image is selected. Pending or failed required evidence must be resolved before the Guide can be completed and its Report submitted.

People with access to the Guide Report can review the saved summary, note, and ready photo when the method is included in reports. Preview answers do not create a Report.

Fix common problems

• The method has an authoring warning: Add both Instructions and a Confirmation label, then save the Guide.
• Confirmation asks for photo evidence: Select Choose photo, choose an image, and select the confirmation button again.
• Evidence is pending or failed: Restore connectivity and retry the answer.
• The task was confirmed with the wrong note or photo: Update the note or choose a replacement photo, then select the confirmation button again.
• The completion is missing from the Report: Return to the Guide and make sure the confirmation and any required evidence finished saving.
