Care teams

Use care-team relationships to organize the people supporting someone.

Care teams connect a client with the CareMap accounts supporting them. An active team membership and an active client assignment can make that client's People entry, Schedule items, and Reports available to a member. The role shown with a membership describes that member's responsibility on the team.

An invitation does not grant access by itself. Access begins only after the recipient signs in to the invited account, accepts the invitation, and becomes an active member of an active team.

Manage a care team

Care-team management is available to administrators.

  1. Open People, select the client, and stay on Profile.
  2. In Relationships, select Manage care team.
  3. Create a team with a name and optional detail, or choose an existing team.
  4. Confirm the client is assigned under Client assignment.
  5. Add an existing account under Members, or invite someone by email under Invitations. Enter the role that should appear with the membership.

Creating a team from a client's profile also assigns that client. A team can support more than one assigned client, and the dialog lists all active client assignments and members for the selected team.

Use Save team to change the selected team's name, detail, or state. Removing a client assignment ends that team's access path to the client. Removing a member ends that account's access through the team.

Invite a member

Enter the recipient's email and role, then select Invite. Pending invitations show their expiry and delivery status. You can Resend a pending invitation, Retry a failed delivery, or Cancel it.

The recipient opens People and selects Invitations. The invitation shows the team, role, inviter, expiry, and client when one was included. They can Accept or Decline it. An invitation opened from an email link is also shown in this list after the recipient signs in.

If an invitation is missing, confirm that the recipient is using the invited email address and that the invitation has not expired or been canceled. An invitation tied to an inactive team or unavailable client cannot be accepted; send a new invitation after correcting the team or assignment.

Deactivate a team

Select Deactivate and confirm when a team should stop granting delegated access. Inactive teams remain listed for reference but no longer grant access, and new members, assignments, and invitations cannot be added to them. If the team should be used again, an administrator can set its state to Active and save it, then review its members and client assignments.

Care-team access is separate from Guide folder permissions and other relationship or consent rules. If a member can see a client but not a specific Guide, document, or protected detail, review the relevant access and consent settings instead of changing the care-team role alone.
